Looking at partner is a stupid tag anyways, but you can look at a partner even if they aren't looking back. Just to be sure before anyone aliases it should be checked that every post tagged would use eye contact. If not I reccomend aliasing to invalid tag and cleanup, just to be safe

Good point. Eye_contact is aliased with looking_at_each_other, and that doesn't really apply to looking_at_partner images such as...
I'd go with cleanup and invalid_tag alias.

Why was this ignored in favour of the sloppy alias to eye_contact that it didn't even represent, only someone looking at their partner?

Invalid would've been better...

Yeah, I think this needs to be unaliased.
Looking at someone and looking at each other is not the same thing. It has made a mess of the eye_contact tag.
I'm not entirely sure anymore about aliasing looking_at_partner to invalid_tag either. Considering its popularity, it probably was useful to some folks..

Ah well, I'll take the silence as a no.
But since it won't be unaliased, what are we supposed to do with images such as these?:

There's countless others. Now tagged as eye contact, even though the wiki says that eye contact is to be used when "at least two characters in an image are looking directly at each other."
Should those be cleaned up, or the wiki description changed to cover both?

you can't clean images up with implied tags, they just re-add them. I don't know why it was implicated, I kindof stopped paying attention to the thread because it felt like common sense not to use eye_contact. Eye contact wiki should stay, and I think that looking at partner should just be kept, and have the wiki say "to be used when one partnerr is looking at the other without making eye contact. So as to separate the two.

Couple of years later, and this is still a problem. I'm constantly finding posts such as...
...tagged as eye_contact, because of the looking_at_partner alias. Maybe it's time to finally unalias that?

Thanks. I can finally start cleaning it up (...after a couple of other projects), without having to worry about new ones popping up.
