Topic: [FAILED] Redundant tags part 3

create alias furrowed_brow (5) -> furrowed_eyebrows (3470)
create alias hurting (0) -> pain (12726)

Reason: I wanted furrowed_brow to match frown_eyebrows, so to start I ecided toalias it to the _eyebrows variant.

the rest is self-explanatory.

EDIT: The bulk update request #5087 (forum #368678) has failed: Error: Alias would modify other aliases or implications through transitive relationships. (create alias clown_horn -> bike_horn)

The bulk update request #13530 is active.

change category cringing (0) -> invalid
remove alias cringe (0) -> invalid_tag (0)

Reason: I think this one needs to be invalidated. It's a mixture of "cringe" and awkward situations/moments/observations and social judgement/commentary, ...along with a few people making a face which comes the closest to working but the expression is not always a 1 to 1 match for wincing even then.

I noticed that the original cringe tag was invalidated ages ago, before invalid categories were another option we had. And I suspect that people reached blindly for cringing as a substitute despite the difference in meaning, just whenever they wanted to tag something as being 'cringe' in all of its broad and subjective meanings.

Because of that impulsive pattern with this tag, I don't want to make cringing disappear into invalid_tag, because the next closest tags are all artist names that start with cringe, etc and I don't want idiots trying to use those as substitutes next.

So that's why I think our best option is to change category to invalid, and to move cringe to it. That will isolate the mess, but also discourage serious use.

follow up would be:
alias cringe -> cringing
