If you do a single alias (ex. pussy -> vulva, assuming that a reverse alias is removed), you don't need to remove all existing aliases and implications. They'll just get updated automatically.
Can't be done with a BUR, though. It specifically needs to be an alias request.

I think it’s important to note we still have to sort the aliases and implications to the right things though

Edit: for example, plump labia implies pussy. If we were to do pussy -> vulva the way you suggested, it would give the weird plump labia -> vulva implication.

So if we just alias pussy as well as every pussy_* and *_pussy tag individually we don't have to dismantle and rebuild the whole implication tree? that makes things a lot easier, though it would be kinda spammy.

Out of curiosity, why can't that be done through BUR?

Yes. It's going to be a huge undertaking regardless.

I'm not entirely sure why BURs don't support this.
I think it's because it was originally an admin tool without any bells of whistles.

What do we do with the pussy color tags?

this is probably a bigger project than the cubpocalypse, this should be handled by a janitor/mod and up. or at least someone with extensive time to meticulously bur out EVERYTHING.

If it were handled by an admin, you wouldn't need to many separate BUR requests regardless - admins have no limit on their line count in BURs

Could this be sorted with the labia/vulva distinction? Should we simply resort to something like <color>_vagina or <color>_female_genitals?

Maybe create the implications <color>_labia -> <color>_vagina and <color>_vulva -> <color>_vagina?

Well, all of this is still covered by vulva, so there's not too much difference here. As a quick copy/paste from Wikipedia: "The human vulva includes the mons pubis (or mons veneris), labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, vestibular bulbs, vulval vestibule, urinary meatus, the vaginal opening, hymen, and Bartholin's and Skene's vestibular glands."

The inclusion of the mons pubis does raise issues, however, in that there are images where that structure is visible but which aren't tagged with pussy because the labia aren't visible, like so:

I don't necessarily think this means we shouldn't do the alias, but it's something to be aware of.

I think excluding the pubic mound from our definition of vulva would make sense as that's the only part that's not considered explicit. Sometimes practicality needs to take precedence over total scientific accuracy (e.g. many of the higher order species tags).

Would like to point out that the labia includes both the outer labia/labia majora and inner labia/labia minora. I think the *_inner_pussy tags would probably be best aliased to *_inner_labia (or *_labia_minora, but since the english term is also correct, we may want to go with that over the latin term)
