Topic: What's your favorite NON SEXUAL feeling?

For me, it's expelling all my energy at a rock or metal concert, then taking the train home to my warm bed and passing tf out.

It's especially nicer when it's chilly outside

I can relate, it's a very lovely feeling. But for me, even a stronger feeling is when a game makes me go: "Okay, that's fucking awesome!". That and when i finish a game with a good story. I feel fuzzy. Or fizzy, as James May put it.

I remember how elated I was as a kid when I beat GTA 2

During the warmer months, sleeping with my AC on.
During the cold months, snuggling up in my hilariously oversized blanket, and quietly listening to the sound of the winter wind.

Those nights walking home from work on a cool winter night, looking up at the full moon as it shines upon the dark city. Just listening to the remaining bugs and birds, and it's a weird feeling walking alone sometimes. It's quiet, and really peaceful. It reminds me of those moments in those games. Like in Metroid Prime, just sitting back and listening to the weather as you walk around, or Rain World as you watch the horizon in the distance as the rain below rolls in. Or the ocean in Satisfactory, or the moment of playing modded Minecraft, getting back to base, and just kinda relaxing. Or sitting back and roasting a marshmallow in Outer Wilds.

Like a certain someone said, "It’s the kind of thing that makes you glad you stopped and smelled the pine trees along the way, you know?”

Figuring something out. The satisfaction is unparalleled. Making code work, figuring out how to draw something reliably, modding something and it works, etc.

This!
Also, I love that unique type of accomplishment and luck when I randomly encounter the original track that was sampled in a long time favorite hip-hop number of mine that I've subconsciously been wanting to find.

The brief cold in your tummy or slight feeling of lightheadness that mighy accompany disorientation. Like when you swim underwater with your eyes closed, or when you spin around for a while and suddenly stop, or when you're driving at speed and there's a sudden but slight drop in elevation enough for you to feel it without impact.

Feeling dizzy feels kinda freeing. A high without drugs.

The wistful rumination after finishing a satisfyingly-concluded story, reverberations of emotion that paradoxically makes you hungry for more yet wary of continuations lest their good memories become blemished. A longing which keeps one dwelling upon their imagination and drives them to the likes of AO3 or FF -- seeking out others’ interpretations, not necessarily for its quality per se, but as meta-validation of the felt experience.

"Cry not because it’s over; smile because it happened." -- Ludwig Jacobowski

My most memorable instance would be Outer Wilds, for which the above quote is fitting not only for the experienced emotions but also the overarching philosophical narrative of the game. The sense of the sublime evoked I find only comparable to the experience of listening to Bach’s Ciaccona for the first time.

A more recent experience is the Haruneko trilogy by Chibineco, for which my avenue of venting the energy was to obsessively identify and tag every character by the artist on this website.

Just saw Pantera and thinking back that is a great feeling

For me it would be the feeling of finally getting water out of my ear

Can you hear the ocean like in a sea shell?

beating any sort of boss that’s been giving you trouble, either last session or for the last 30 minutes.

always feels good to kick an ass that’s been kicking your ass up until then.

Swimming. It's been an important part of my life. Nothing beats the feeling of diving in my local river. It's cathartic and freeing, also a darn good workout.

Other then that? Walking or talking with my pals and family or while gaming. Hanging out and chatting after a day is relaxing.

For me there's no better feeling than feeling accomplished. Being able to get what you wished and its rewards feel amazing.
Like, damn, I earned this!

picking out nose nuggets
you don't think about it much but if you pick something out it can really open your airways in there and it feels easier to breath

Another one for me...

When I was a flagger, I was assigned to babysit worksites as clean up from hurricane damage until the crew showed up and fixed the issues. We were pulling mandatory 16 hour shifts with an alternating crew. We work 16 hours, then the second crew shows up and we go home to rest, and vice versa. This went on for nearly a week. After it was all said and done, the company gave us some days off to rest. I must have passed out for 20 hours afterward. That was the most restful night I've ever had.

My lovely old cat snuggling as much of herself into me as possible in an attempt to get even more pets/in^2.
The denouement of a properly written slow burn romance.
The subtle pain in studying the beauty of a flower blossom, caused by the knowledge of how ephemeral that beauty is.
A hot shower after a cold, wet, hard day's work.
That first bite of a soup you've worked on for hours on a cold day.
My niece laughing when her bachelor uncle does something silly.
Sobriety.
These are a few of my favorite things.

A microwaved brownie / chocolate snack cake topped with ice cream! Really interesting combo of hot, cold, chewy, crispy, and soft

Finishing a difficult project and being able to see the fruits of my labor (especially when it's something I can physically see in the real world rather than something digital), or figuring something out that gets me passed a roadblock in a project.
Close behind is finding new music that scratches the itch of my music taste just right.

When I have a shitty day, I take a cold shower. Towards the end, I turn up the heat then open an ice cold, hoppy beer. The sudden change triggers a massive endorphin release and beer hops contain natural muscle relaxers.

I've heard the opposite works as well for showering. Starting off warm and relaxing, then cooling it way down for a minute for a quick energy boost

I’ve actually done that a couple times especially when I’ve been working outside and on days where it was a stressful day at work.

When I was part of the NoFap community, everyone praised that. I tried it once and I was like "nope". I just enjoy hot showers too much

Honestly you aren’t wrong hot showers are just too good

I’ve got a few:

The feeling after beating a hard section/boss in a video game might be better than sex. The rush, the accomplishment, knowing that I finally dogwalked it.

Finishing all of my final projects, essays, etc. for the semester, especially in grad school. Again, the accomplishment feels amazing.

The thrill I get from riding roller coasters has got to be up there, despite my fear of heights (RIP Kingda Ka).

The refreshing feeling of drinking ice cold water after waking up from a nap is pure euphoria…

And lastly, the joy I feel when I pet my dog!

Going back and rewatching a movie or TV show that you enjoyed as a kid, and finding that it's better than you remember, so not only do you get the warm, fuzzy sensation of nostalgia, but also the rejuvenating feeling of seeing these pieces of media in a new light.

The thrill of the chase
Blood pumping action
To be or to get
Sprinting speed or Mach 5
In cars, on foot, in space, underground
It can feel like you're on top of the world when the settings are right
In games or in our world
Chase feels the best.

The feeling like... instead of being dragged along by the dog. Instead of suddenly having a smaller dog to drag... YOU ARE THE DOG, AND YOU ARE SO FUCKING FAST.

top 20 feelings of all time

1. bed
2. hot shower
3. vidya game
4. hug
5. sex
6. exercise
7. i can't count to 20

starting up my truck and seeing I have a full tank of gas, nothing feels more satisfying.

I don't know, but have you ever put on a hoodie straight from the dryer right after it's finished? Sucks that it only lasts for like a couple seconds.

No, but falling asleep in freshly washed and warm bed sheets is a good runner up

any of you motherfuckers ever been in a body of water?

What size? Bathtub, inflatable pool, public pool, pond, lake, great lake/inland sea, or ocean?
I can say yes up until lake.
And two, why do you ask?
Is it the feeling of floating on a surface that isn't really a surface, letting yourself be carried by the whims of the water? Or is it just the feeling of water.

Probably the feeling of being proud of myself after doing something really well, just that quiet hum of Knowing that you nailed it, without the self-doubt.

Closely followed by that feeling you get in the summer, when the weather is perfect, where it's contentment + you can feel the air buzzing with so many potential possibilities in it.

Or maybe the feeling on certain types of rainy days, where it feels like everything gains just an edge of mystery + this purified kind of melancholy that feels introspective instead of burdensome.

public pools are great if you don't think about the near certainty of piss in it!
being in a big enough body of water is almost transcendent, you're almost weightless, your motion is slowed as water flows against and between every part of your body, and when you get out of the pool you feel weirdly heavy. 10/10 experience, btw i never learned how to swim

When you sit in a jacuzzi and the jet stream hits that lower part of your back near the spine. I'm melt

In no particular order
-Sitting down in my car after work
-Walking out into the cool night air after a workout
-When I'm driving and the music perfectly matches the weather and scenery in that moment
-Eating a big ass sandwich
-Cat curls up next to me or under the blanket
-Hollow
-Biiiiiiig stretch
-Back/head massage

Running or otherwise moving around during a cool and foggy night. If we're allowed to extend past physical feelings, also watching all the fireworks on 4th of July. 🎇🎆🎇🎆

EDIT: Also, seeing squirrels, they're cute!

Best feeling for me is when a usually skittish wild animal comes up to you when they find you interesting or nonthreatening. It makes me feel like I'm in a disney film

Having mutuals send images or posts about hyenas to me because they recognize me as "the hyena guy". It low-key warms my heart a little even if I've seen what they're sending me before because it means they, unprompted, saw something and immediately thought of me and then went out of their way to send it over. It's a small gesture, sure, but it feels like such a genuine sign of care completely unprompted or "forced" in any way by societal norms like birthdays or holidays that it's easy for even my stupid ass brain to accept that, okay, maybe I do actually matter to a lot of people lol.

Nothing has beat the high I experienced that one christmas when I had spent multiple months finding really well targeted gifts for my family members (nothing too fancy, budget was around 20€ per gift), and then getting to see them all getting genuinely excited while unwrapping them.
