Topic: Accurate-ish lizard anatomy

Posted under Art Talk

I tried to read countless times about lizard anatomy but I still cant fully grasp it, I feel like I may just be stupid and impatient and adhd but I'm trying! Per Wikivet dot net(which I hope is reliable source) I learned that in lizards only one hemipenes is used during sex and theyre not used in urination, I also know they have a cloaca but I'm confused where the cloaca is in relativity to the hemipenes, I also feel unsure about if I'm ever imagining/drawing it right, it varies a lot among species so I decided to search komodo dragon hemipenes but it's hard to find a good photo of it so maybe fuck it we bal when it comes to shape.
But what I really want to know is how a character with a accurate-ish hemipenes and cloaca receive, I wanted to draw m/m between a mammal an a reptile but I realized that even though I know how to draw the dicks, I'm not really sure where the cloaca is, I hope this doesn't sound silly, but I don't wanna do a reptile yaoi hole

Don't try to imagine how accurate-to-life lizard anatomy would fit it into furry logic. It doesn't work that way in reality.

In the simplest terms, the cloaca is basically the opening for which the hemipenes peeks out of. Imagine the sheath for canine_penis.
If you want see it in detail, I'd advice looking for references in existing artwork instead of veterinary articles (which I guarantee would never show you what you want).
