Topic: Blacklisting website sources

Posted under General

See title. I'm attempting to blacklist an entire source website (one for a specific fandom i do not wish to see content from) and am not sure if that's a thing here. I'm not entirely sure if that would be a logistical nightmare to implement or not.

Is there a way to handle this? blacklisting specific tags isn't helping when these tags conveniently do not appear on pieces featuring fan characters.

this would not be possible with the way the blacklist works since, (as of right now, at least) a post's sources isn't one of the bits of data attached to the thumbnail and stuff.

Not to mention that an image existing at a source does not make that source where the image came from

I'm not sure which fandom it is but if certain users are uploading these posts, you can blacklist uploaders instead.

Yeah, it'd be helpful to speak in specifics instead of the abstract in this case. There might also be cause to tag the fandom or some other umbrella tag here, but it's really hard to say without specific information.

Actually, being able to narrow a search query to posts with a specific site listed among the sources would be useful to me as well for a different reason: Sometimes I'll discover that an artist posts on multiple sites, but uploaders have only bothered to include one of them in the source list in most cases. Being able to query something like "[artist] -[source:blahblah.com]" would give me a good starting point to see which ones need to be checked against their gallery.

that exists already. you can search by source, you just can't blacklist by source.

If you don't want to see content from a particular fandom, wouldn't it make more sense to just copyright whatever series you're talking about anyway? Or if it's a subset, blacklisting lets you set tag combinations.

Not sure you can blacklist it but you can kinda do in search like "-source:*twitter.com*" for example, maybe test a bit with the "*"s to see if anything works.

But maybe it's just easier to blacklist that fandom title as a tag.

considering it's a fandom that has been known to doxx people who speak negatively of it, i really would rather just not take the chance.

That only works for when the characters from the media itself show up, not for fan characters by themselves. I don't want to tag it myself and risk a negative score for vandalism.

I'd rather not, if the uploader is also uploading content from other series or tags i might actually keep track of.

Regardless, I appreciate the clarification. I am asking for something that might be unreasonable in most other contexts, so I wasn't expecting it to be a feature.

I'm sorry we couldn't help you come to a better solution, but in this day & age, I can appreciate the caution. If you'd like, you can DM me the details & I'll ask the rest of staff about the matter to keep it private.

Im having the same issue. I dont want to see anything from the source "all the fallen" and im not sure how to proceed going forward. If anyone has any suggestions or further info please do let me know

considering atfbooru contains very specific content you should blacklist the related tags rather than trying to blacklist any source

You should blacklist whatever tags are common from those sources rather than trying to blacklist sources entirely
