Topic: Tag implication: red_envelope -> envelope

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Technically, a "red envelope" (a.k.a. hongpao/红包, 🧧) refers to small envelopes containing gifts of money, popularly used in China and Southeast Asia for special occasions.
While most "red envelopes" are traditionally red in colour, it may sometimes also be coloured in yellow, gold, pink, green, etc. Although a misnomer, non-red "red envelopes" are still referred to as such (e.g., "yellow hongpao").

I'm not sure if it is worth differentiating it from other generically red envelopes and creating a distinct tag for it.

The tag implication #70946 red_envelope -> envelope is pending approval.

Reason: It's the color of an envelope, so this color tag should imply an envelope.

I just made a bur on (almost) all envelopes lol: topic #61446

I get what you you mean but for now let’s imply red_envelope to envelope because it’s related

edit: spelling

To be honest, I'd much rather have red_envelope be disambiguated and split between (generic) red_envelope_(letter) and hongbao.
It also wouldn't work if we have hongpao imply red_envelope since it could be in different colours as mentioned earlier.
