Topic: How to appeal an unjustified deletion

So, what happened. I've made a 3-minute long NSFW Roblox animation in blender. It was deleted for "not meeting artistic quality standards" without any explaination of what are those "quality standards" are, even though people praised the animation. Plus, there are a lot of worse and lower-effort artwork on this site fully approved (you may haven't seen the animation itself, but it's WAY more deep that the majority of these posts: https://e621.net/posts?tags=roblox+animated

Okay. I've made a work on my flaws, fixed some animation issues, improved post-processing, models, re-rendered and posted again WITH a note for the moderators that this is NOT the same post, but an improved version. It immediately recieved praise (107 upvotes overnight. This is good enough because the franchise is currently niche) and the animation itself was pretty good in my and everyone else's opinion. And guess what? The very same moderator deleted for the reason:

I want to appeal the deletion, but don't know how to. Because you know what happens, when a good artist gets rejected...

P.S. Don't wanna sound like a Timmy Tuffknuckles, but if this issue persists, I will just leave this platform. Ik that it sounde like tHeY wIlL lOsE a VaLuAbLe ClIeNt, but it still shows their attitude on their artists.

e621 is a curated furry imageboard and should not be treated like it is a personal art gallery (like DeviantArt).
Anything uploaded here is subject to the Uploading Guidelines. Failure to abide to it will result in said artwork being deleted, whether the uploader/artist likes it or not.

If you do not like how things are run here, you are more than welcome to post on other websites that are more accepting of your artworks.

I want to appeal the deletion, but don't know how to. ...

Pointing at your own upvote count and calling other people's artworks as being comparatively "worse and lower-effort" is not a good argument.
Someone could hypothetically post real-life porn and get hundreds of upvotes, but that does not make it acceptable to upload.
Likewise, existing artworks that seemingly don't adhere with the current guidelines may be deleted upon second examination.

If you want to know why it got deleted, refer to topic #23578 as @Voltage-controlled suggested.

Excerpt on Artistic Quality
Artistic quality
  • anatomy that makes no sense
    • legs/arms of different length, head/body ratio is way off, one eye lower/larger than the other, hands of different size, broken ankles, that sort of thing
      • "but it's my style" only works as an excuse if the style is coherent in itself, arms that are of different length are seldom a stylistic choice
  • scribbles
    • sketches are fine, but even doodles need to look better than something drawn hastily into the corner of your math homework
  • coloring outside of or over the lines
  • "1000 hours in MSPaint"
    • those are usually troll images that look like they took about 5 minutes in paint while being drawn with a mouse during an earthquake
  • coloring any base (template linework created by an artist) is not acceptable and any of those will be deleted
    • however, we do allow up to 5 instances of those bases if they have been created and finished by the original artist

With how simple it is to use SFM to create halfway decent 3D artwork we have some special considerations for those:

  • simply importing a pre-made model is not acceptable, the model(s) must be properly posed
    • the pose chosen must look as natural as possible without any clipping or deformed joints / body parts
  • textures must be of good quality and actually somewhat match to each other (no checkers board dick on oiled up skin models)
  • animated loops must at least loop decently without extreme jumps between start and end point(s)

If you want to contest the deletion, you are advised to message the janitor who deleted your artworks and respectfully list your reasons.
However, considering @Mairo no longer entertains such messages, you are advised to appeal with the head janitor @Strikerman instead.

... Because you know what happens, when a good artist gets rejected...

Not a good idea to make such jokes. Ironically, his artworks meet our Uploading Standards.

A site/business not bending to any and all whims of their users/artists/customers/etc doesn't show their "attitude", it shows we actually care about how the site is ran and aren't desperate for every little morsel

As was said above, if you don't like how the site runs (as a booru, not as your personal art gallery) you are more than welcome to leave this site and go to a personal art gallery that will accept any content regardless of quality stanfards
