Topic: About humanoids and filtering out humans with a few animal features

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I've been thinking about how to put characters that are just humans with animal ears/tail into a blacklist, but I can't seem to find a way to do it without banning actual furry characters. These types of characters are tagged as humanoid, but at the same time a lot of fully furry characters are also tagged that way so does anyone have an idea for what to do here? Do we really not have a good way to distinguish posts about humans with animal features from full furry characters.

The thing that drives me nuts is when a character is human + animal ears.
Not a neko, which is a human WITH animal ears/tail. As in, the animal ears replace the human ears.

But flat-out humans, complete with human ears, and extra animal ears.
If you were to remove the animal ears; It would look like a perfectly normal human. Nothing would be missing from their anatomy.

I hate these images, because I feel like people could just slap animal ears on a human, and it's 'good enough' to be on the site. x.x

I think you can blacklist human_only fake_ears.
But fake_ears are undertagged imo.

Don't even need to go that far, just give humans slightly pointy ears and they're "good enough".

human_and_animal_ears (I don't know how to make it a tag on the forum) seems to catch most of it.
It just feels good to harmlessly vent now and again when the topic allows.

Fwiw, the term is kemonomimi; literally "animal ears". I hate it so much; such lazy character design.

I especially hate the ones where it's really blatantly a human wearing an accessory like mt._lady but since there's a strand of hair over the mask they're totally real horns bro

Sometimes, I wonder how a human focused companion to e621 would fare. Something that has the same tagging standards, but all the human(oid) exclusive art goes there. Naturally, there'd also be some overlap with art from e621.

Rule34.xxx did something similar 7 years ago, when it moved all real life porn to realbooru.com .

While not my introduction to furry art, I wonder if I would have developed as strong of interest in it had I not been obsessed with kemonomimi first. Though, I was even more fascinated by their tails than I was their ears.

Ironic how I find myself sometimes blocking them from my searches, though I just remembered that I need to see if there's any new art of Fire Emblem Tellius's Lethe or Wolf Queen Nailah.

I decided that a lot of these artists are probably doing it as a (mediocre) attempt to expand their appeal to include both cosplay and ~animal_humanoid ~anthro fans.

"Monster girl" content can be kind of similar in that way. Not fully committing to the concept is disappointing. Especially if your technique is bad, you can still make something interesting by pushing a concept to the limit.

anthro characters should never be tagged humanoid, if they are that's a mistag

Frustratingly I'd think the majority of my activity on this site over the years has been trying to fix those mistags, as my blacklist is practically useless because of it, and I swear there are hundreds more every single day.
The number of posts tagged humanoid anthro solo is absolutely insane. Like, what are you supposed to do about that, realistically? They're both rather base and basic so bulk tagging isn't an option... The site doesn't exactly have functionality to detect such things and like issue a pop-up to help remedy such mistagging, and clearly people don't read the wiki entries for those tags.
