Topic: Ruminations on Latex Art

Posted under Art Talk

As a latex enjoyer I do not understand the appeal of a large portion of rubberfur art even a little bit. I think someone like squeakitties is kind of the poster child for this very particular subgenre of latex art which is so texturless and leans so hard in the cerebral/fantastical direction that it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the kink to me, which near solely revolves around the physicality of it all. Is this just a me thing? I'd love to discuss this.

I think as always different people are into it for different reasons. I would guess for some people the appeal is the idea of being a sexual object. The physicality of it doesn't matter to that as long as the concept of being objectified for sexual pleasure comes across. I think that's also why a lot of Squeakitties' characters are ex-humans who transformed into anthros rather than just anthros wearing latex.

I follow Squeakitties on social media, and from what I can recall she likes the concept of just being a toy that does not have to (or even have the ability) think, worry or stress about anything, and having all sources of physical discomfort and body related psychological discomfort removed permanently. Also she has thing for medical experimentation, so it's mixed in there as well.

Her art and commissions seem to be more intended for scratching an itch that is not possible in real life, so it's not really "meant" for people who enjoy content grounded in realism.
