Is adding notes for translation_request restricted to computer?

Is adding notes for translations restricted to computer? I read the wiki on how to add notes, and it says

"You can create a new note via the Add note/translation link in the sidebar, right above the Favorite button. The note will appear in the middle of the image. You can drag this note wherever you want inside the image. You can resize the note by dragging the little black box on the bottom-right corner of the note."

It's "Edit notes", not "Add Note/translation" that got it to work, and it doesn't automatically put a note on the page, and I had to go on computer to be able to add a note. Unless I get a mouse for mobile, is there no way to add notes? Or am I doing something wrong?

Nah you're not wrong. There's no way.

Technically, there are certain apps or even external devices (such as those used to bypass broken touchscreens) that would allow you to have a cursor on mobile devices.

However, to answer OP's question, there is currently no mobile functionality for notes. There is talk about implementing it in the future, but it is not being looked at at the moment.
You will need to use a PC in order to add notes to posts properly, or ask someone with a PC to do it for you.

Sounds good, I did a lot of work on translations today, I do got a computer, just hate hunching my back over a keyboard for several hours when I can do it in the comfort of my bed. The phone I have used to have apps that supported mouse functionality but apparently they're too outdated.

To clarify, you can connect a mouse to your phone & it works to create notes just fine; I've done it myself. Web browsers can properly distinguish the input capabilities of different inputs & trigger different events accordingly. Either manually triggering the required events from touchscreen inputs or entirely rebuilding the dialog system to use something else is the bottleneck that we have to figure out.

there was the Puffin mobile browser with a built-in digital trackpad and cursor that functions exactly like an actual mouse, but that dipshit CEO locked that browser's service behind a paywall "to combat piracy". i've tried using unofficial modded Puffin clients to use the trackpad, until Puffin ceased all services from those clients.

Well that's a bummer :(

Ah, I thought so. Puffin is the one that works kind of like Nitter for Twitter/X but for a lot of sites. I mean, in the sense of processing DOM server-side. I guess there's a reason that it's subscription-based - it needs servers. It's the cost of cloud-ifying your browser. $12/year to save battery life I guess is a decent tradeoff, haha.
