Topic: Staff appreciation thread/post

Just wanted to share my positive experience so far.

Staff on e621 is possibly the absolute best on any website I've ever dealt with. Tickets are dealt with swiftly, staff is responsive and friendly (and fair), and when I was banned for suspicion of being underage, I verified via e-mail and it took pretty much no time to get unbanned.

When I needed (and still need!) to upload several pieces of art from an artist's portfolio at once, without waiting a day or more for 10 post approvals, they generously helped me (twice!)

They're fair towards users, they're here for when they're needed and honestly I wish there was more credit given where its due for staff dealing with people who troll and post... unsavory comments or DM you asking you if you enjoy the idea of engaging in illegal activities.

Not all staff members are the same, and there is definitely some unsavory history in the past regarding some members of the staff team judging by other threads, but otherwise...

Nothing else to add. Thanks @spe, and other admins and janitors for helping around. :D

I can attest that staff here are very fast, on average.

💡 Here's a tip:

If you want to show your appreciation to someone, go to their profile and click on "Report/Commend" on the top of the page and put in a good word for them.
Yes, it's the same system as reporting someone who broke the rules, but it should be obvious to the mod handling the ticket that it is a commendation.
They may even get an official green record from the mod if their deeds deserve to be praised. You may also check here to see examples of praise-worthy actions.

I noticed this! But I wasn't sure if it was worth it for a mod. I mean, they're already considered cool, right?

Staff can still get green records for exceptional conduct.

Your one commendation may not instantly grant them a record, but multiple commendations from multiple users can increase the odds.

That's very kind; our staff is really appreciative to get these kinds of feedback, so thank you for thinking about shouting one of us out!

But yes, Wolfgang is right; even staff can get commendations (though the bar is naturally higher & they can't nominate themselves). As a matter of fact, I got my commendation after going staff myself (although in my case it was primarily for actions from before joining staff), & I know I'm not alone in that.

I'm thankful to Spe too coz I don't have to traumatize janitors anymore.

the staff does an excellent job of finding solutions to things that don't have any problems

As someone who has been on the receiving end of many mod actions (All deserved!); The mods here tackle problems, be it tagging vandalism, uploads against the rules, problem users, etc. very well!

The janitors are the real chads. Shoutout to Mairo in particular

Eh, each one was my fault. I may be mouthy, but I don't blame others for my mistakes. :P

And I am incredibly low on sleep dealing with a hyperthyroid cat adjusting to a medicine treatment, so I may be missing something, but what did I do for you? o.o

Since the comment you got a record for is hidden, I can't really say much about it. :shrug:
Oh you left some comments on my uploads. I think they're all hidden though.
