Topic: E6 won't remove my art

Posted under General

I decided to make my art dnp on e621 because I disagree with how this site handles tagging, I had one drawing posted here already so I tried getting it deleted, but to delete something off e6 you need to say the source and cause I made it and posted to e6 first, I can't get it removed

To elaborate on Voltage-controlled's post above, you'll need to file a Takedown to have your art removed from e621. This provides everyone with a papertrail and ensures what is to be removed is spelled out explicitly. After submitting your request, please remember to follow the additional instructions on the next page.

You don't need other social media to request takedown. You only need one email.

You can write that you're a self-uploading artist. And if they think you're not the artist, you can show them a screen cap of your WIP.

you can further prevent your art from being posted on this site by requesting to the staff to put you on the Avoid Posting list

I'd like to hear the people who shit on TWYS propose a better alternative that everyone can agree with.

An alternative gets discussed from time to time on FA's Discord server, as the devs and staff continue to plan how they'll eventually approach their future tagging system. Right now, tags are still a free for all there, with a few exceptions, and the only one of their staff to have stated their opinion so far is one of their devs, who stated that they believe that the artist should have the final say on all tags for art in their gallery, because they are a form of self expression. If the rest of the staff buy into something like that, then their tag definitions will be subjective to each artist, in contrast to E6's strive to make tags as objective as possible. They do acknowledge this would diminish the usefulness of their block list feature, at least.

for a normal user-hosted gallery the best middle ground would be to have a sort of inverse of a booru's alias system, where there's a bunch of tagnames that all share a single identical functional root tag/ID. so the artist has control over what words are used and users don't need to search for or block the 32,768 possible variants of every tag.

it still wouldn't have as perfect coverage of everything as a properly handled crowdsourced tagging system, since you still need to trust the artist to want to tag, like, in general. but it's always gonna be a balancing act between artists and user experience.

Considering how that is kind of true for things I personally tag within my own system, it only shows the weakness of TWYK even more. Because even if the above statement is taken as true, for the artists own gallery tagging 'to work' (as they define those tags - ie. so that searching for tag A really does return all images related to 'tag A as the artist understands it'), those tags have to be maintained; this is similar to rewriting previous chapters in a work of fiction to get rid of plot holes. There has to be 'one canon'; if your opinion of what tag A means changes, it's not functional to just leave the previous taggings of A unreviewed.

..But the easiest way to consistently determine whether a tag 'is applied correctly' is to begin by making as objective a definition as possible. The bigger your gallery gets, the more important this is.

IOW, even if the tagging system is literally just yours, for your purposes only, something at least approximating TWYS is still better.

I think the dev needs to decide whether he is trying to "make a system" or just to cater to people's feelings. Expression within systems is always constrained (if you want the system to actually be justifiable as useful). Free-form fields like filenames and descriptions are better places for self-expression.

Cut to the articles about FA's tagging system being transphobic and hateful after making it remotely functional

...is this because no one had any idea what you were talking about with your femboy as tomboy thing?

...anyways, it doesn't really matter; arguably substantive or not, you don't need a reason to take down your works, you just need to follow the procedure you've been told about both publicly & privately.

Bro im not even stanning e621 when I say this but e621 has one of the BEST tagging systems ever made for a Booru. No other Art searching sites can even COMPARE to E621 !!!!

And you cannot tell me there is a site out there (for art) that has a better tagging system than
e6 motherfuckin 21 !

E621 is tagging KING
from my experience, let me tell you all the sites slacking on their tagging system:

Inkbunny
Deviantart
Newgrounds
Furaffinity
Pornhub
Xvideo
Artstation
Pinterest (albeit they do find a cluster of good relatable art)
R34 (notorious NOTORIOUS I HATE IT NOBODY CARES ABOUT TAGGING THERE!!!)
Rule 34 xxx
Paheal .net
Twitter
BlueSky
EHentai
Danbooru (albeit they are quite 2nd to e621 but more Anime oriented)
Derpiboou (same as above but more pony oriented, Bronies are as dedicated as furries)
Gelbooru
Pixiv (TERRIBLE AND IN JAPANESE!!!!)

Did I forget any ladies and gentlemen?

Anyways, dude...im sorry your Tag Ideas aren't realized but...just make a SET yo!
E621 is tagging KINGS and I have to kneel and thank the STAFF for being so so proactive in their work and the Janitors who keep the tags clean, precise, and orderly! THANK YOU!

How else would i ever find certain niches i love such as (ex: thick thighs, abs, female, bird, yellow eyes, sweat, feet, dynamic pose, bedroom eyes) or some shit like that...?

Femboy_as_tomboy? Just look for femboy in jeans or something

Tomboy_as_femboy? BRO THAT'S JUST A GIRL!

And the ANTS of e621, the worker ants (us the enjoyers) are proactive on editting and adding more tags if we feel like a post either doesn't have enough for discoverability or is tagged slightly or VERY wrongly
