Topic: In/deflating (object) BUR

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #13294 is pending approval.

mass update deflating -> deflating_object
mass update inflating -> inflating_object
create implication blowing_bubble_gum (1166) -> inflating_object (15)
create implication blowing_bubble_gum (1166) -> bubble_gum (1579)
create implication inflating_balloon (88) -> inflating_object (15)
create implication inflating_balloon (88) -> balloon (6166)

Reason: According to the wiki of the inflating, it (vaguely) refer to the inflating objects which is different from inflation which is inflating characters. To avoid this confusion, I made a bur for it and it's opposite, while also implying other tags. After that we can alias it:

alias deflating -> deflating_object
alias inflating -> inflating_object

unless we need to disambiguate it

I agree that inflating_object and deflating_object should be used.

At first, inflating was used correctly. But there were 3 pages of non-sense at the end.
Sometime with the character being filled without the character being an inflatable, and sometime even without any inflation action. "inflating" was sometime used as strictly equivalent of inflation. Maybe we should set "inflating" to invalid and say "is_inflating" for the action.
I have removed from inflating every case where noting is being filled, and every case where it is not an object or a living_inflatable being filled.
I left some inflation of living_inflatable, because I don't know if it could count as inflating an object. We could say it is a living object. And I left flash content, because I can't open them.
Thus inflating is ready for transfer, except if living_inflatable being inflated should be removed.

deflating, on the other end, is not clearly stated to be about objects and has not a massive use of deflating_object in it. It is even used to refer to rebounds. This one should be sorted manually.

For the current bulk request, I would say to just remove "deflating -> deflating_object" from it.
And for the futur, I would say to set deflating to invalid or aliased to deflating_(disambiguation) and to alias inflating to is_inflating.

Updated

Well thanks for cleaning up! To me at least, living inflatable should be removed since we're aliasing them with X_(object) as in non-living things (that is reserved for inflation)

Deflating on the other hand should be the antonym of inflating so it should be object only for consistency

Disambiguating both could work, if there's support for it

I have now completely disambiguated both inflating and deflating using inflating_object, body_inflation, deflating_object and body_deflation and some other tags like leaking_air.

inflating now contains only case that have inflating_object. I have only tagged inflating_object on a few of the content, including those with both body_inflation and inflating_object.

deflating has been emptied in my cleaning process. Moving things from or to it would have no impact. Things that are deflating now can be created combining deflating_object + body_deflation.

Tags that both contains body and objects are inflation and deflation.

deflation already match more or less the idea that the deflation is happening right now, but it is sometime used when there is just leaking_air. Maybe a is_deflating tag could be created if needed. Is_deflating is a clearer name than deflating.

inflation doesn't specify if the inflation is happening now (clearly). Maybe we could have is_inflating for that.
inflating was not that bad for this use bud it still has been used quit a bit for inflation that is already finished. So is_inflating is better.

Again, thank you for cleaning them up

Maybe a is_deflating tag could be created if needed. Is_deflating is a clearer name than deflating.

IMO, it's not necessary to split the tag with an action (is in/deflating) from the general one (in/deflation) or even the result of said actions (in/deflated). This only applies to images with sequences or videos with so it's a little redundant.

Besides, only 3 underused (general) tags are is_X so it's unlikely that people are searching for it
