Topic: potential namechange for the parasite tag

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I think parasitism is a better tag name for what is currently known as parasite. It describes the behavior, rather than a term that refers to a certain group of animal speciation which I dont think we have any tags like that.

Idk much on the kink other than liking a few posts here and there, but infestation might be another good name, that parasite could be aliased to.

Solo images of just the critters involved exist:

Infestation is also definitely not a good target to alias 'parasite' to since one facehugger is not an infestation.

I do think there could be some change here. Should 'parasite' function more-or-less as a species tag? Or should it be strictly 'a critter doing parasite things is present'? Both?

I believe that infestation is only supposed to be for specifically for internal parasitism, where as the wider parasite tag is also applicable to stuff headcrabs and the like, whose body sits outside of the host body.

It seems like infestation can be external. It's just "having a shitton of parasites."
Regardless, I do think it's worth having this as a distinct tag because it's very plausible that someone would be okay with single parasites but draw the line at a character being turned into a tick-crusted bag of worms.
