Topic: Can you explain the averi_(fiddleafox) situation?

I’m trying to understand what happened here. What exactly did the artist or her character do that would justify banning her characters entirely? If trolls made bad art with the character, that seems like a reason to deal with the trolls, not to erase the character.

If a character can be banned just because some trolls adopt them as a symbol, wouldn’t that set a precedent where any character could be banned when trolls adopt them? That seems... extreme.

If I'm not wrong, the character owner no longer uses the character in question or had abandoned it.
Trolls, including extreme groups, have used the character as a "mascot" to spread their hate. Therefore, the character CDNP here.

I'm pretty sure the use of the character by trolls is because the original creator/artist of the character turned out to be massively bigoted while pretending to not be that. It was a wild thing to come out.

I understand restricting a type of art designed solely to hurt people, but banning a whole character just feels like book-burning to me.

The character is not banned, it's a CDNP, it's just for easier moderation

I'm sorry, I read the rules but could someone explain what CDNP means in this context in less confusing wording?

Conditional Do Not Post. A DNP with a condition attached to it, which you can check here.
