Topic: Is bared_fangs A Useful Tag?

Just stumbled upon bared_fangs, which appears to have started life as "bared_teeth for characters with fangs" but is now just-as/more often being tagged on posts which have any amount of fang visible , often in the style of cute_fangs. ^{bared_teeth itself has a small amount of this but it's not approaching a majority of the tag.}

At best it seems mostly redundant to bared_teeth fangs^{unless on separate characters} while also poaching some posts which should be bared_teeth + sharp_teeth. ^{I don't know if that's a common issue with sharp_teeth?}
Considering it's currently primarily used for cute_fang I think an alias to fangs would make the most sense, which will result in those handful of sharp_teeth mistaggings going there.

Yeah, it really does just seem like it's getting used as a tag for any fangs being visible at all. bared_teeth fangs returns results that seem like they fit the intended usage of the tag. It's such a low-population tag that I don't really see the point of it existing since it's so redundant.

Hm, this could be a useful tag with proper curation- facial expressions that expose and emphasize fangs aren't always snarls.

Looking through the tag history, it appears that one banned user is responsible for the majority of 'cute fangs'-type uses. The search bared_fangs -user:you_are_cool is a little more cohesive. But imo it's still enough of a mess to suggest people won't use it for anything consistent.
