The tag implication #71993 flying_boat -> seaplane has been approved.
Reason: A flying_boat (an airplane with a hull) is a type of seaplane (an airplane which can take-off and land on water).
Context:
A little while ago, my suggestion to alias all water-borne aircraft to the seaplane tag was rejected in topic #62032.
Based on the replies to that topic, it seemed that my concerns about being 'too specific' were unfounded. Therefore, I then went through all images tagged seaplane, and added floatplane or flying_boat as appropriate. I also created the following wiki pages:
I have now finally gotten around to looking at the implications for these tags. I was happy to find that in the replies of the above forum topic, an Admin had replaced my floatplane -> seaplane alias request with an implication request, which has been approved. The flying_boat -> seaplane implication request is the one you are reading now. That only leaves the seaplane -> airplane implication, which is still pending in topic #62031.
EDIT: The tag implication flying_boat -> seaplane (forum #486143) has been approved by @spe.
