Topic: Regarding the user "administrator"

Posted under Off Topic

Ive been looking at old comments, and found the oldest (according to order:comment_asc) by "administrator" with account id 1. Seems like alot of old comments are by that account. Ive seen whole comment sections just from that one account, arguring to itself. Its not that accounts as we know them didnt exist back than, as Ive seen comments with usernames when administrator was active. Also, when the last commebt was posted by administrator, nobody really noticed. The oldest comment by it was around 15 years ago, but the latest reply to a forum was under a test forum. So what was the whole deal with the account? Is it just old data being corrupted, mutiple people using one account, some weird quirk about early e6, or something else?

It looks to me like a multipurpose account used for early administrative and development work by the original staff team of e621. Believe it or not, Varka didn't create e621. He acquired it at the very end of August 2010 from the original owner Arcturus, and it looks like administrator's public activity ceased at that time. Although, looking at name changes, it appears that it was in use for backend development work since then as I recognize a couple of those names, so, you are likely correct that multiple people used it.

I'd say it's just an old administrative-level account that's long since outlived its original usefulness after an administration change and one or two site overhauls.

Yeah, thats about what I expected. Always fun to explore old relics of websites.
