twisted is also a tag, though it can get misused for anything that a person thinks is freaky/weird/edgy

I do believe that the self-spiraling / intertwining usage is valid and taggable, and twisting is probably the best target for it IMO. Cleaning up twisted and aliasing it to twisting would also be good.

Though its current uses seem fine, I'd be concerned for twist also being tagged on things that are already twisted, rather than actively twisting. twist could also refer to a story twist, an unexpected revelation. But maybe these aren't too much to worry about.
