Poor, hapless Mawrice. Previously identified only by a number like all slaves of the Chancel, Mawrice was bred and raised to be the perfect, obedient lapdog - from his protective nature and eager submission, to his wagging tail and petite size, every facet of the fuzzy little critter made him a premium trophy pet for his Mistress. He was the apple he eye, until one day a terrible affliction overtook the unfortunate pup - transforming him into a massive, hulking wolf. Cavernous, jagged maws began to twist open across his body, shifting in position and quantity on a regular basis, alternately slurping, drooling, or whispering his inner thoughts without his bidding. Horrified he might be infectious, his mistress sold him for a fraction of his normal cost at the market, though for quite some time no price seemed low enough to spirit him to a new owner. He was eventually bonded to an expedition to the Sunken Temple, to be used as fodder to check for traps and curses. Despite his best efforts, he’s managed to outlast his handlers, and is now left alone yet again to wander the dungeon in search of the loving master or mistress he so dearly craves.
