Komatsuchi is a part of a pantheon of lesser deities called Seasons' Tidebringers, a group of seasonal deities whose jobs are to bring about the changing seasons of the world.
Each season has a Good, Neutral, and Bad side. Each group of three are referred to as the "Spirits of X/Y/Z", and in Koma's case, he embodies the good side of Winter as one of three "Spirits of Winter".

Koma specifically embodies the Good side of Winter; beautiful winter wonderlands, gentle snows that let people enjoy it (snowball fights, snowmen, sledding, the snow he brings is perfect for all of it), and the sights, sounds, and smells of people having grand feasts, and people being snuggled up by a fire of some sort, relaxing and possibly enjoying a hot drink that their toils in Summer and Fall have earned them. He also feels that Winter is the perfect time to share moments of tender affection, romance, and intimacy with someone you like, so he is also occasionally said to embody Winter love and Winter "fun".

While most gods prefer to remain in their respective heavens, Koma is one of the uncommon ones who would much rather be doing something in the mortal world, whether it be travelling, living amongst the mortals of the world, and just generally enjoying mortal life; watching the world go on around him.

His deity form is a 21' long eastern dragon with a mix of fur and scales. His fur is snowy white, with various shades of icy blue highlights streaking through it, and additionally he has an icy blue mane running from his head to the tip of his tail. His scales are limited to his arms and legs, though only goes just a little past the halfway points. The color of his scales are best described as a "murky snow/ice" grey, and the claws at the tips of his fingers and toes are white. His horns are a deep ice, almost sapphire blue, and branch off a little. While in his deity form he emits an aura that chills the air around him, although not in a freezing way.
