Prior Investigations
2025-07-16
Staff members involved: scaliespe, Lafcadio, abadbird, Catt0s
The artist's gallery was brought to our attention on 2025-07-16. On 2025-07-17, the artist began publicly addressing accusations from non-staff on a verified account, and another series of posts were brought to attention by another janitorial staff member, uploaded by the artist. As part of their uploads, they provided an artistic process for post #5715058; this artistic process was unacceptable as proof, as a person tracing AI could start with a finished image and then work backwards to falsify a set of sketches/WIPs. In response to this, Lafcadio, finding several artistic and technical issues consistent with previous artists tracing AI, deleted johnny-wolf's gallery.
The very next day, the artist started a pattern of confrontational communication with various non-staff. No staff members had reported having any contact with johnny-wolf, including Lafcadio whose name would've been included in every post deletion notice. The artist produced post #5717110, where a character is accompanied by the text "Now I would like my apology ♡", accompanied by a video recording that showed signs of tracing from a hidden image. Lafcadio provided a public statement accusing the artist of dodging him in order to fight the accusations publicly with reputation and bluster instead of hard evidence, and additionally argued that johnny-wolf's video evidence was itself suspicious. johnny-wolf's e621 activity then stopped completely, instead continuing the discussion on a Fur Affinity submission page.
A commissioner made an upload of johnny-wolf's work on 2025-09-04. The post was deleted for having several issues in common with johnny-wolf's prior deleted uploads, and no first-party or third-party appeals have been made since.
If you suspect a work by this artist is AI-assisted/generated, flag the post. Do not make public accusations of AI-assisted art; these will be penalized under Disruptive Behavior.
