Kit-Kat and many other chocolate treats like Nestle Crunch and Cadbury were sold covered in aluminum(?) foil and wrapped with a paper band here in the PH prior to the early 2010's(?) before they switched to the plastic wrap.

The mini variety pack ones from the USA do still come covered with paper-lined foil(?) but those aren't the same aesthetically.

My bad! Apparently it was Hershey's miniature variety pack that did the paper-lined foil thing and not USA Kit-Kats.

I vaguely remember this, now. looking at the stuff on Google images and ads from the 90s it seems like this did apply to both the international (Nestlé) version and the US (Hershey's) one.
