It's about your racist-sounding epithets. You unironically calling AI systems "clankers" every time it's brought up in conversation isn't making RAM cheaper or graphics cards more affordable, it's honestly just annoying. I say this as someone who hates how AI is being (ab)used in every industry it touches, including my hobbies. There are plenty of ways to express a strong dislike for AI that don't involve abusive and (ironically) humanizing language.

I'd rather not have to blunt my language in a way that indirectly benefits the companies behind AI. If you think the term clanker should be banned, why not make a forum thread suggesting it? I'd like to see people weigh in there and know what the actual policy is.

Enough people disliking AI, as shown by the language they use, might end up in policy against it which ends up lowering prices.

If you read back your forums, people have already told you that the term is also used alternatively for racial/ableist slurs. (forum #482569)
It's not that we support AI. And I understand you're NOT using the term to refer to people, but please keep in mind that not all people are comfortable with the word because of aforementioned usage. I'm not part of those who are uncomfortable with it, so I don't mind you using it in DMails.
