Edit: Also that thread never actually came to a clear consensus on the implication, and it seems more were in favor of the initial implication than not. Not gonna bother necroposting in it either. Perhaps thong can become a disambiguation and there can be thong (swimwear) and thong (underwear) tags made to filter the two, if the implication isn't desired?

I think this might be a decent way to handle it. At the very least, making a thong_(swimwear) tag for the swimwear and leaving the initial tag as underwear might be enough. After all, it isn't like thong (swimwear) is significantly different from other things that end up in underwear, so a few mistags here and there probably wouldn't affect much in the grand scheme of things.

It's alright, just pointed out why I made the implication thread despite there already being stuff in the forums on this.

Also, I started pruning through thong swimwear to start adding the thong_(swimwear) tag (which should imply swimsuit), finding a lot of posts where both bra/bikini, swimsuit/underwear are tagged, it's quite the mess. I also found some where only the bottom part of a bikini is visible or worn; I would imagine that, with the new thong_(swimwear) tag, bikini can signify when both pieces are present in an image, and is not used when the top piece is missing?

I don't think anything tagged with sling bikini should be tagged with thong either, but a good number of posts are...

One thing I noticed is that swimwear is aliased to swimsuit, which makes me sad cuz swimwear sounds better/more all-encompassing than swimsuit. D: ah well.

Also had to start using swimsuit pull to separate posts from the panty pull/panties/underwear tag chain.

Edit: Apparently thong_(swimwear) has also been going by bikini bottom which admittedly sounds better as a tag; thoughts?
