Topic: Why is it a thing for any gay porn for like both guys to have muscle?

Posted under Off Topic

Oh my God do you need to really understand what I mean. So humanoid characters aren't always that realistic well they are but almost all of them have some form of muscle meaning they take working out seriously. My whole thing is it definitely adds a sense of submission to a character. Sea Salt is probably one example as well he's meant to be 5'6 which interesting enough is my height. I actually think Sea Salt would be stronger than me.

muscular men are a pretty popular fetish for anyone into men

not everyone, i'm personally moreso into the svelte and chubby, but it's still incredibly common

also who the hell is sea salt?

How.. How do you not know.

Their account was made back in 2021. Sea Salt has kind of lost popularity and they might not know what was popular in 2014 cause they are new to furry porn I guess. Personally yeah I think Sea Salt was more popular in like 2014 and has just lost popularity as the artist doesn't want to make comics anymore.

I didn't even actively use my account until 2020, seasalt is just.. one of those furry staples you learn about somewhere along the way

yeah immediately after saying that i looked up the tag and recognized the dog, i guess he never really grabbed me enough to memorize his name

altho sea_salt is a pretty good example of what op was talking about in the first place. even characters who are supposed to be more skinny and conventionally built than the big beefcake bara they're paired up with are still typically pretty fit compared to most actual real-ass people out there

i mean jeez just look at those pecs!

I was able to figure out what you meant it's a Japanese manga thing. I don't know why the link doesn't just give you the right Wikipedia article.

Because e621 thinks that the ) is not part of the link. Get it to include all the characters by putting it like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bara_(genre)
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bara_(genre)>

I know of him, but i'm an old lurker. but he does mostly appeal to the gay crown obviously

i think there are artists for all the tastes, some draw more realistic characters but porn is always about a power fantasy more than reality... also in these sites u find people that never had sex for one reason or another so most sex stuff is so exagerated is out of the realm of real stuff like for a longshot lol

Artist and audience projection. Not only do they want to be paired with a character they find attractive, they also want a character they're associating themselves as to also be attractive. As Dripen Arn says, most of us aren't as attractive as we'd like to be.

This isn't really isolated to gay men. You can go into the male/female tag and see a majority of men and women with fit and muscular bodies, it's just what people find attractive. If anything I find gay men a bit more inclusive of different body types, like dadbods, bears (not in a furry way), to just general chubby boys. That's just how I see it, though.

For me I don't understand how you can be into males and don't like muscules or manly feeling. That was the main reason why I'm into it. But I already noticed such weird for me things like girly males or femboys that I instantly skip, so everyone have own tastes about it. I think I will see female scene instead if you can't got manly feeling from male scene.

I like twinks. I don't want a huge 10ft tall 400lb hunk of muscle. I want to see slim but not muscular guys that look like me.

Personally I find it fugly and gross, I like cute and pretty exclusively. There's a certain aspect to cuteness that I really find really attractive that is just totally absent from bara which is like the total opposite.

My man, dab me up
I was just about to comment about how this is an entire forum questioning the appeal of bara without ever calling it that

it's dap.

porn of men

those features therefore masculine

I like cute girls with cute bodies but cute guys with cute bodies has some bonus when it's not the "default", mix that with the embarrassment that it's not expected for men to be cute... that may be changing because I think everyday femboys are getting accepted more and more lol.

But I also think tomboy girls are more cute than "normal" girls, they trying or succeeding in being more masculine is so adorable...sigh.

Still, there are some muscled and bara characters that I do like... mostly if they are subs cuz all that bravado and exercises to just lay down on a bed and take it...

Drawn porn is great lol.

I don't understand the OP very well beyond the title. Like, it's hard to gauge what you want us to answer by what you wrote after that

If we're just gonna answer the title, it's because it looks visually appealing to most people. I'm sure there's plenty of people out of us 9 billion who think dudes look better without muscle, but the majority decide what's popular. It doesn't tend to have a relation to the dominant/submissive status of the character in the picture because it benefits the artist best in most cases to have both characters looking as generically "good" as possible.

Muscles are mentally associated with the male gender as well, so the male-attracted men and women who browse gay porn are gonna get off to it more the more there is. Like I'd assume it is for straight dudes jerking it to lesbian porn and getting off more the larger the breasts are on the females, regardless of anything else. It's just a plus to have effectively all around the board. It's also worth mentioning that there's a large gap between furry porn and porn with real people/real sex. Things that might stand out or turn someone off usually are going to have less of a negative effect due to the cartoony nature and "human but nonhuman" fantasy aspect.

I'd guess straight dudes that just have a femboy kink or are trying to break away from female interest due to rejection might find the submissive partner being portrayed as muscular as a turn-off. Or women watching gay porn that are into more k-pop lookin fellas than traditional "men." But that's clearly not a large enough denominator to make non-muscular bottoms the standard.
