Topic: “Stasis” aliasing

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #12852 is pending approval.

create alias stasis_tank (52) -> stasis_chamber (738)
create alias stasis_tube (6) -> stasis_chamber (738)
create alias stasis_pod (7) -> stasis_chamber (738)
create alias stasis (99) -> suspended_animation (10)

Reason: I decided to make a BUR to alias “stasis_tank”, “stasis_tube”, and “stasis_pod” to “stasis_chamber” to help mitigate confusion, as well as aliasing “stasis” to “suspended_animation” hence stasis is a bodily state similar to which.

Hopefully this will be less confusing.

My only reason against this you can have a stasis chamber present in a post, but it not being used, or is empty. post #4989696 (A broken stasis chamber) and post #3502594 (An empty stasis chamber) don't actually have any stasis taking place.

Also, I'd suggest aliasing stasis to suspended_animation since the latter is a much better description of what happens inside of one – also, suspended_animation has a proper written definition.

So, in short:
The other aliases are fine IMO, but an implication to stasis should not be established. Instead, an alias from stasis to suspended_animation should be made.
