Topic: alias pawpad_"clothing" -> paw_"clothing"

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #13013 is pending approval.

create alias pawpad_gloves (18) -> pawprint_gloves (0)
create alias pawpad_shoes (12) -> pawprint_shoes (7)
create alias pawpad_socks (16) -> pawprint_socks (14)
create implication pawprint_gloves (0) -> pawprint_clothing (97)
create implication pawprint_shoes (7) -> pawprint_footwear (2)
create implication pawprint_socks (14) -> pawprint_footwear (2)

Reason: It seems appropriate to alias paw and pawpad clothing tags. Paw clothing tags are used more frequently, but it could also be updated to pawprint_"clothing" to match the pawprint_clothing tag, which I added an implication for.

Looking for some feedback.

This is going to lump paw-shaped items together with items that just have a pawprint, which are not the same thing.

There are paw-shaped gloves/shoes that don't have pawprints, or have them covered:
post #5971831
In summary, there should be separate tags for paw_shaped_gloves/paw_shaped_shoes and pawprint_gloves/pawprint_shoes.

Socks are fine I guess, though maybe pawprint_socks would be a better name for the tag.

Also, *_shoes and *_socks should imply *_footwear, rather than *_clothing directly.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. There might also be a distinction worth considering where pawpad_* implies a more 3D pawprint (so like "padded") where pawprint_* is just a flat printed paw. So should I change it like this or reject the request outright?

alias pawpad_gloves -> pawprint_gloves
alias pawpad_shoes -> pawprint_shoes
alias pawpad_socks -> pawprint_socks
implicate pawprint_gloves -> pawprint_clothing
implicate pawprint_shoes -> pawprint_footwear
implicate pawprint_socks -> pawprint_footwear

alias pawpad_gloves -> pawprint_gloves
alias pawpad_shoes -> pawprint_shoes
alias pawpad_socks -> pawprint_socks
implicate pawprint_gloves -> pawprint_clothing
implicate pawprint_shoes -> pawprint_footwear
implicate pawprint_socks -> pawprint_footwear

Yeah, seems about right, though pawprint_footwear should imply footwear and pawprint_clothing, which in turn should imply clothing, mirroring their base tags, footwear and clothing. Basically, add this:

implicate pawprint_gloves -> gloves
implicate pawprint_shoes -> shoes
implicate pawprint_socks -> socks
implicate pawprint_footwear -> footwear
implicate pawprint_footwear -> pawprint_clothing
implicate pawprint_clothing -> clothing

Don't think the distinction between flat and 3D pawprints should be baked into each type of pawprint clothing, especially in such an obtuse way (pawpad_* vs pawprint_*). If people are interested in this kind of thing, it should get its separate tag(s).
