An alias would be more appropriate to prevent people from using the old character tag.
Oh, I figured a BUR would be the best since im generally the only one that uploads art of him. If an alias would be the better option, do I need to resubmit as an alias request?

You don't have to resubmit if you are using a BUR. You may freely edit your current request by going to BUR #13189 and then using the "Edit" command.
