Topic: Uploading guidelines, and underage artists query

Posted under General

Could the artist themselves upload art they created as a minor after turning 18 or would that also be included by these rules?
"Underage artists: Do not knowingly upload artwork from an artist who is under the age of 18. *

This applies retroactively, so even if an artist is currently over the age of 18, artwork they made while under the age of 18 will still be deleted."

Because it's still work they made as a minor. Especially if it's adult art they made as a minor, some jurisdictions may still regard it as sexual exploitation of a minor to share it regardless of them being an adult now.

Probably mostly consistency to avoid loopholes and edge cases. A hard limit with no exceptions is just easier to maintain.

Honestly, we want to avoid posting artworks from artists who openly say "Yeah, I created this smut when I was underaged." It's just a bad public image.
This includes those who openly state their age on their profiles, but also have artwork dated way before they are 18.

As for SFW art, we probably do not want them as well since people can still find loopholes and post suggestive/fetishistic stuff.
Theoretically speaking, if someone posted Michelangelo's The Torment of Saint Anthony, it would be removed under the same rule.
