Topic: Might stop posting here

Posted under Art Talk

I honestly kinda sad, I didn't know that E621 had a "Art Standard" I dont know why that even exists in the art world. Especially on this site, I also view this site as a lovely art place where NSFW furries can post their art works and people can see them easier but after my recent few post have been taken down i think i just want to shift away from E621. If deleting my art off this app was easy i would so i can just leave much easier but I cant. I get there standards to sites because it hard host the servers and archive it, but it sucks when artist are placed on standards. I really liked this site because people saw my art and i loved seeing people favorite my art because it made me feel happy to know im being seen as an artist but i dont want to be on a level i dont want to get to every post. I thought ranting about this would make me feel better and hopefully if someone find my account for the art can find me somewhere else or atleast know why i dont post anymore here. Idk i wanted to rant to make myself feel better :P

E621 isn't primarily a personal gallery. Remembering that would save artists much headache. I tried upload my stuff here, knowing full well it might get deleted, which it did cuz i still suck at it. Don't lose your joy for art over this, i'm sure there are other places where your stuff is welcomed.

You know I'm just going to trot this thing out. :p It's Gelbooru's reasoning on why they don't allow artists to self-upload to their platform.

Uploading One's Own Art is a Good Way to Get Your Feelings Hurt

Posting one's own art is severely looked down upon, and there are two reasons behind this:

Firstly, artists tend to be biased when it comes to judging the quality of their own work. What looks good to you may be regarded as mediocre to Gelbooru moderators.
Secondly, more suitable sites to upload your own art to include Deviantart and Pixiv.

Admins and moderators are especially harsh on self-posting artists, lashing out penalties without remorse. The surest way to feature your art on Gelbooru is to show immense talent and skill elsewhere, and with that, captivate some fans on the other side of the Internet into uploading your art.

Obviously, we love it when artists upload their works here, but this is a curated booru, not a gallery site. We do have a certain minimum criteria posts need to reach (see the Uploading Guidelines ). If you're unsure about something, you can ask a Janitor or, for more immediate feedback from a wider range of eyes, on the Discord.

Nevertheless, posting here is a risk, and there will always be a chance your posts will get deleted. Nevertheless, you are good enough to be here. Thirteen approved posts isn't anything to sneeze at. Of your five deleted posts, two were by your own request and one was a repost. Two unique rejected posts versus thirteen approved? That's doing pretty good. Learn from them and build upon it. (Remember, you can message deleting Janitors (except Mairo) and ask for feedback.)

Lastly, can you do me a huge favor? If you decide to keep posting your art, could you please remember to add your artist tag? That way, viewers will know whom to admire.

I guess all of their uploads are their own artworks?
Then the tag should be lemonsaregood. That's the one the account is linked to.

Then that means none of their art (as of this post) was originally tagged by them. Verification doesn't mean diddly unless the artist remembers to tag themselves. :|

Common misconception. People tend to think "artist (tag) = account"

..That's.. That's literally why the checkmark appears next to the artist tag on some posts. It means that the artist themselves uploaded the art. If the artist doesn't tag themselves in their own art, what's the point?

I'm assuming that some people thought "linking to artist tag" would automatically add that tag when uploading. Though the green bar reminder to add an artist tag should appear whenever they finish uploading so it should be much rarer than what I said earlier.

Why would you want to delete the art that has already been approved? That comes off as pettiness to me.

I'd imagine it'd feel more like a clean break if they didn't have the niggling thought that since some got accepted their newest piece might, but I don't know. What we think matters little; we'll honor their takedown regardless.
