MemberI did genealogical research into the Royal families et al, of Europe. The Hapsburgs did so much inbreeding to keep the royal blood in the family(any number of 1st cousin marriages -and 3 uncle-niece marriages !) that Charles II of Spain (d.1700) was a near-imbecile,and, tho married twice, never consumated either marriage. The Hapsburgs lost their hold on Spain and it went to a related family the Bourbons ! They still hold Spain.
