MemberActually, canonically, their tails aren't hollow. They just have extra soft fur in the middle of their tails. But you are correct about them using their tails to store small items/food they want to keep. They also use their tails like brooms to sweep away their foot prints while they walk to keep those who they stole from from tracking them.
