Good job on the animation, crimson! Question though, would you recommend animation to someone who sucks at drawing art? I’d like to do some animation, but I can only draw stick figures.

I can’t draw either, so technically yes.
But be aware that getting good at animating takes many many hours of learning and practicing, too. You don’t have to learn anatomy or perspective, but will have to learn how to use blender, animation techniques and will have to spend a lot of time improving your workflow.

Also be ready to sink a lot of money into new PC hardware if you want to increase render speed :)

But you will not have to be able to draw at all ;)

How long does it take to make an animation of this length?

It looks so real! The fur, the knot, the motions

Since this is just a loop with different angles, this one was quicker to animate. Took me probably about 10 hours to finish the movements. Rendering the whole thing was another 20 hours due to the fur detail.
Adding sound effects maybe another 3 hours, so about 33 hours total, with the actual working time being about 13 hours.
More complex scenes that don’t loop will take longer to finish.

Honestly I’m content with this plus I never expect an artist that puts this much effort into something to do so much in a small amount of time. This is outstanding and amazing and I can’t imagine how long it took to make this with the 3d models and everything. Hope you take a long rest after this and manage to treat yourself once and a while. You have earned it with this one, and fans can just use their imaginations in the meantime.

Maybe because out of sympathy? I understand that most people have no idea how much time animations take. We’re speaking of 20, 30 and even more hours. It’s not like you just hit a button to change the scene, it would require many more hours of detailed work. Of course everyone’s free to express their wishes of what they would like to see, but they should be aware that it comes across as pretty rude. Especially when the only thing you have to say about an artists work is that the content should be different.
Same applies for statements like “wish character xyz was female” or similar.
