true. Part of my job involves scheduling facility maintenance and one thing I've heard from janitors is the womens bathrooms are usually worse and that a shocking number of people do this or just pee standing up while maintaining nearly zero accuracy and spraying the whole toilet.

Men do this too, i can confirm from where i work.
You can tell by the boot prints on the toilet seat...and sometimes by the broken toilet seat.
