The fact that this was done by a moderator looks like an abuse of power.

Nah. I help staff another booru and know how they work. a mod wouldnt have that power. he got it fair and square. plus its a post. not a user getting the boot for no reason lol.

  • Crazy how quickly e6 has been growing. The site's about 18 years old, but post #4000000 was less than a year and a half ago. The number of posts has literally grown by 25% in that short a length of time.

Yeah, any shenanigans would require ssh access to the servers running e6, which none of us staff have (not even our own developer, by his own choice)
If you want to see some actual sysadmin shenanigans, post #3000000 was absolutely cheated

I am mildly ashamed to admit that I've been tracking post numbers over the last week or so to calculate the time this would be happening at (it was at about 5am my time)

  • I love how the comments are more about the number than the post itself.

That's how most milestone posts go

It was almost a red panda: post #4999999
    (or a fox: post #5000001)

It could have been any of these
I'm happy it was this one because it's cute :)

  • The tracker on the home page is a bit misleading, it says it's just above 5003300 Posts, so I go to the most recent post to change it's I'd to 5000000, but the most recent post was 723XXX+ more than 5 million posts.
So that means that about 720000 Posts have thus far been deleted, that's quite a few actually. I wonder when the 1000000 deleted posts will be & how / if it can be archived somehow? Would be nice to know.

    We have a stats page
There are 5,004,576 active posts, 710,025 deleted posts, and 10,585 destroyed posts, making for a total of 5,725,186 posts

I'm not exactly looking for stats, I'm wondering if there is a way to archive the 1000000 Post to be deleted/destroyed (they seem to be basically the same thing in the end post you can't see anymore) ; So that the file is viewable & preserved despite being deleted or destroyed.
Just for deleted post alone it's pretty much impossible to find the file, since the both the file & sources/links are removed & the download button don't work or exist.
It'd be nice if there was a way to browse the deleted posts somehow in general, but it be nice if the 1000000 post to be deleted/destroyed was archived.

If you archive a destroyed post you're likely to have the fbi knocking on your door

What is the difference between deletion and destruction?

Is destruction a total, 100% removal? Just curious.

Destroying a post removes the post and its files entirely, only leaving behind some metadata
It's used to remove illegal content

I see. Well, I'm glad you guys take this stuff seriously! I'd rather E6 remain a somewhat friendly place.
