So your sinuses connect your nose, mouth and eyes together. Some people, like me, can blow air out of their tear ducts. For me there's a little discomfort doing so. What the deer is doing is routing the lights into his mouth, through his nasal passages and out his nostrils. I don't exactly know how it's done but it requires control over the gag reflex. Sounds weird but this is perfectly normal. The human body (or I guess deer body) is a complex and weird beast
