MemberOut of all characters, Orem is the worse character to choose for a straight art mainly because he's more of a Subby Verse Bottom, Even in Locke's Bond LV where Orem is too pent up and decided top hook up, He wanted to be bottom
Weird thing to say but I kinda just wanna share that
Lawddog
MemberFeel weird since baade confirmed to have children. Implying that he's bisexual. But yet go for orem who secretly hook up with another male expecting them to top orem. It's not weird. Just very out of character
Banez
MemberAgree also Orem is pretty one of the characters in Woofia can be canonized as gay mainly because he uses a gay dating app when he was pent up, it's hinted in Locke's Bond LV3 also the reason I think it's a gay dating up mainly because Orem was ready to be bottomed which is unlikely in a normal/straight dating app

MemberThat's what's called a "double standard". When members of two or more groups are treated differently regarding the same thing. In this case, people don't object when a character with no explicitly stated sexuality or is explicitly stated as straight is depicted doing homosexual acts, but DO object when an explicitly homosexual character is depicted doing heterosexual acts or is otherwise portrayed as heterosexual.
The double standard in short is, "its ok showing straights being gay, but not gays being straight", even though the underlying subject matter is the same: THE CHARACTER IS DEPICTED WITH A SEXUAL ORIENTATION DIFFERENT FROM CANON. I understand WHY the double standard formed though, to the LGBT+ community it is jarring trying to make or see fanarts/fanworks of homosexual fictional characters doing hetero things as it brings to mind anti-lgbt things like conversion therapy, rather than it just being an alternate universe where their sexual orientation is different. Orientation play is rare enough as is, but for it to be confirmed in-universe (for the fanwork) NOT to be orientation play is even rarer, even more so when its its NOT trying to be revisionary/lgbt erasure/homophobic in general, and is genuinely just trying to be a...uh...different sexual orientation AU, for the lack of a better term.
Banez
MemberAnd it's super weird cuz they can simply use Baade who is actually Bi/Pan in game but they chose the character that is easy to canonize as gay aka Orem
xrosemarcyx
MemberBut... I like the marine boy. I like Locke and Orem more than anyone in the game. I draw them because I like their design more, is that too much to ask???
Fantasydrago30
MemberIt's nothing wrong with liking your favorite characters It's just you might end up facing backlash from others seeing their favorite gay marine characters being in a non-canon straight sex art. XXL WOOFIA is strictly a gay gacha game that heavily on the M/M.
xrosemarcyx
Memberthen... these people can just move on and look at other gay drawing, blacklist the "woman" if they don't enjoy it. Isn't that what E6 feature suppose to... do????
Even I'm aware Woofia is gay gacha game, I still adores the design and respectful people loved them. But I'm not one to please people with content people want. So kindly I ask to leave it be if it's not your cup of tea.
Banez
MemberNot much wrong with it but you do have a male OC so you could've use him also the game being more focused on M/M pretty much means the majority of people looking up art of it are Gay Men and there are gay men feel put off about seeing a MLM characters with a woman
xrosemarcyx
Memberbut I don't want to associate my OC since they are not correlate to them. The art is for me. Myself. ME (My Enjoyment) They're not obligated to look if they don't like it. I'm sorry I wasn't born as a man to enjoy gay man content, but there's plethora of other arts out there they can look at other than mine for people who simply just... enjoy the character as it is. If you get what I mean.
Floofy-VoidCat
MemberI don know much of the lore of the character but i really like the art^^
Keep drawing♥︎

Memberaww! thank you ^^ that did made my day

MemberSome good art you have done here, and don't worry about what people are saying, how the character's orientation is mostly depicted is one thing. And nothing wrong with doing the art of them with a female, your character in this case & it is for your enjoyment, something you like & decided to share this & the other one with others. And as you've said, it wasn't to intentionally do something involving a gay character with someone who's female, you just like the two characters, and simply wanted to do this type of art with them. Also is nice that you shared the art here, both bits of art are some nice ones.
After all, it is depicted all properly & consensual after all. Like people have said here, it's art. People out there, it isn't your cup of tea sure, but try not to be so judgmental over it, people can do what types they like to. Heck, i wouldn't get annoyed if this albino shark of mine were depicted with other females, though the character is gay. As mentioned, it is the internet, many things happen.
And on another note, the fact the two males in the art pieces are mostly shown as gay, can make it a bit more "appealing" for the few who'd be into the whole g2s, orientation play kind of thing for those of us that are into it. And like how i get this one white shark character, who as mentioned before is gay, of mine done in some commissions. But yes, this art is something you like doing, so keep it up & don't get put off by how others are being here towards your art & the themes. It is harmless after all, just some people can be overly sensitive at times.

MemberI find it interesting that gay characters can be drawn in art having sex with opposite-sex characters.
La'Lune 1
MemberWhy don't you just make them fuck each other then? You know, since they're gay and all that
DaCobraMan
MemberMaybe they wanted to do the art with this character of theirs specifically, and besides, it is the internet. People do all types of art, and if the artist here wanted to do this totally harmless art of them, nothing wrong with that. But some seem to get rather upset about it & make themselves look quite silly. It is artistic freedom, people are not forced to do something a certain way because it gets you & others, a bit upsetti spaghetti
Critical Stiban
MemberTossing my own hat into the ring here. I find it a little hypocritical that people are getting bent out of shape of gay characters in straight art when people have drawn PLENTY of examples of straight characters in gay art. Take for instance everybody's favorite bird daddy Kass.
There is many pieces of him plowing/getting plowed by dudes here but whats this? He's got a wife.
He also has five children with said wife.
Me being the pansexual panda here (oh right bugs bunny pfp) *cough* post #4017056 *cough*
I feel like people should not be so anal about this type of stuff if we have plenty of gay art of straight dudes. Don't get me wrong. I completely understand with the whole premise of the game being that everyone is completely gay. Yet people also forget that being LGBT+ is a myriad of flavors that include stuff like being bi and pan. Two pieces of non-canonical straight art is not grounds for gay erasure. That's absurd. Is my plans for a threesome with Code B and Code K with both my male and female panda gay erasure? Because I can claim that as bi/pan erasure. Sounds stupid right?
So everyone take a chill pill and let people have their own fun. If you want to see more gay art of the characters? Be the change you wish to see in the world. If you want straight art of gay characters? Go nuts. Have your fun. We're furries for crying out loud. Aren't we supposed to be a more accepting bunch?
(Also you can use your blacklist and be specific with said blacklist. Just add XXL_Woofia m/f on one line and your problem is solved. Don't curse out the darkness when you can light a candle.)

Doin this coz it got downvoted by salty fucks that don't appreciate art as much.
I also agree with critical Stiban, people here are very hypocritical with this shit, they draw straight men and women in gay/lesbian situations and moments yet get very pissy when gay/lesbian characters are drawn in straight settings, the urge to draw gays in straight situations oit of spite is VERY HIGH
Zinny
MemberThe comments are being dense. In any case, discourse on whether or not a piece of art is or isn't problematic is not worth engaging in on e621 of all places.
Those types of debates have been repeatedly proven to go nowhere. It basically doesn't matter what's right or wrong cause people can just claim things along the lines of artistic freedom anyway. Also, even if someone draws something personally unsettling to you, the majority of others who engage with it will still be people who like it. It'd be better to put that energy elsewhere, like into art of Orem slapping homophobes or something, rather than opening yourself up to frustrating responses.
Wanting to spite others by drawing gay characters becoming straight is genuinely insane behavior though. If anyone finds themself feeling like doing something like this, please reevaluate yourself.
