MemberUnless Coalt absorbed the ring's energy and gained the ability to transform at will, he isn't getting out of this situation on his own. He isn't necessary to the High Gardens at this point, though it seems unlikely they would turn down the idea of having him back.
It looks like this is a dead end for him unless someone shows up to investigate the scene and makes the right conclusions. I bet it would be Scylla since she was expected to return at some point, though Clessie is also an option.
