The Monk passage in lore only requires that the slugcat eats vegetarian, not vegan, as Blue Fruit —which are actually pupae and most definitely not a fruit, more similar to eggs— count towards the Monk passage rather than the Hunter one.

Therefore, swallowing would not break their passage progress.

Similarly, Saint is not considered to be a Vegan, but is instead Vegetarian.

Yes, I do know it is called that. I was commenting based on the art mentioning vegan.

The firebug eggs being edible was very helpful during part of my saint playthrough. That last region was tricky.
