I thought we were supposed to vote for the best concept, not necessarily the most perfect picture. I voted for the male/female combo because it seemed to fit the site the best, and they looked damn cute, then was sad to discover only one other person had voted for them :(

Taking away what I assume was a server stack is an improvement, but the character is still bland in comparison to some of the others.

Perhaps not all of us want this as the mascot, but I am damn sure not all of us want to log in to see a fem-boy cat or something similar. The point is that no one mascot is going to make EVERYONE happy. This mascot is SFW and is gender ambiguous. Considering reptiles do not have mammary glands, and therefore do not need breasts (though a nice pair of breasts is always a nice thing to see :3), reptilian is the best way to go in terms of keeping gender out of the equation.
