    Most likely because it's really the only model Hors3 has ever worked with. He's been using for them for years to the point it probably just seems natural to include the same sound in every animation, like Jasonafex does.

    OR ... Maybe H0rs3 is putting in a bit of realism in a fantasy animation since many animals pant (like dogs since that reference was used) when they are excited or hot.

    Very few furred creatures actually have sweat glands. In order to cool their body, they pant, or breath really heavily. It's not limited to dogs.
