Bad tagging is bad tagging, no matter how much you might like the picture and people need to be called out on it or they'll never get better.

This, a thousand times.

This isn't a 4chan-style imageboard, people; e621 is a searchable archive. Images exist here well beyond the last few days or weeks. Over seventy thousand of them, in case you missed it. An image with only two tags is as good as not IN that archive.

And anyone who cares is already tagging their images. And anyone who doesn't care doesn't care and therefore doesn't care. Unless you want to restrict access (or at least uploading privileges) and create some sort of tested membership requirements this is all nothing but tl;dr and patting yourselves on the back.

Lots of users here are apparently quite content to let e621 remain nothing more than a cum-dumpster of furry (and some non-furry) art. Lack of tags, mis-tagging, over-tagging, and joke tags ~ if you want it dealt with you (or someone else who also cares) is going to have to deal with it yourselves.

IMHO it boils down to the OBVIOUS tags. we would ALL LIKE to see complete tagging on all pictures, but its not gonna happen. So, we yell at people for missing ANY tag? instead of fixing it ourselves? WE know about the sizing system here, THEY might not. as it is ive seen the "Huge Cock" tag on things WAY to small for it, so that should be an example of how misleading tags can be.

those BASIC tags are, amazingly enough, MISSING FROM SOME YEAR OLD PICTURES. what? Wheres the banhammer, cuz it needs some action if EVERY USER WHO LOOKS AT IT doesnt put in the obvious tags. I dont put tags cuz i dont trust myself to get the tags right. Most users have beeen on here MUCH longer than i, so what the hell?

In short, yelling isnt going to solve any problems. if you see a pic missing obvious tags, do 2 things: 1 report the poster for not tagging, and 2 tag it yourself. the basic tags like that are there for a reason. more specialized tags can be added later, the basics allow it to be FOUND.

Also, i know i post long messages, but this is probably my 3rd post in twice as many months. and i like to make sure my message is clear. if anyone gives a flying ****, feel free to quote this whole thing. and remember i began with "In my OPINION", so if you disagree, i don't care, and yelling at me about it just proves your a moron, instead state your OWN opinion and let others decide what they want.
