shopping cart
A four wheeled cart supplied by a store for customers to carry goods in while they are shopping, and to transport purchased items to their vehicle. They are generally metal baskets attached to several small wheels, with a handle for the customer to push.
These carts go by several regional terms in English:
- shopping cart: Canada, the United States and The Philippines
- shopping trolley: Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Malaysia and The Philippines.
- carriage, wagon, wheelbasket: regionally in the United States
- buggy: United States and Canada
