I'm not kidding when I say (and this might be evident by the length and weirdly passionate/opinionated tone of the response) I've wanted to bring up the topic of both linguistics and ice cream for, like, actually, actually over a year.

Interesting. What kind of linguistic talk you wanted to start initially?

made a joke about me being broke on some post that a Great Goon Web made on furaffinity and they genuinely replied "you're so valid for that" to me. what the fuck.

making great progress on the fanfic i think (and by great progress ive done like 4 paragraphs near the end of it), got my hb to review it and he said the writings good. turns out the Great Goon Web expands much further than i thought though. either way i think im gonna try to upload the story onto furaffinity once im done, procrastinate for another month and THEN start making the one piece of art for it (maybe two or three more depending on whether or not im serious)

Is that how Braixen speaks in Japanese?

I wish there was some kind of study on the hatred of fluffy ponies. Do you think it's just because they aren't canon material? Is it because they're dumb? I'm really not sure.

It's because of the content. Some furry enjoy gore or rape (fictional) but it's only when it's sexualised. They don't wanna see it if it's very obvious non-sexualized abuse. There are also people who can't tell fiction from reality so they believe we abuse animals in real life.

It is anti-furry in a way because it feels like we're constantly trying to find something furries can't fap to.

Some furries seem to hate us because we started as anti-bronies but I'm sure they just hate to see abuse and torture whether it's on mlp or not. Newer generations don't even know about fluffy pony or it's origin but still hate it.

Does anyone know how I can verify myself as an artist here with the checkmark next to my artist tag?

Does it just come in time or do I need to contact staff?

reasons im switching to blips:

  • less advertisement, contained to banner ads instead of individual blips being ads themselves
  • seamless integration with my e621 account
  • small userbase
  • instant access to furry art, including furry pornography
  • image & video hosting up to 100mb (as long as it is furry art and meets posting guidelines)
  • blips are sorted chronologically rather than by an algorithm
  • no voting/likes system for blips, which is radical and in style
  • no intrusive notifications

nice! 🔥 I'm thinking of ditching Twitter for blips tbh

which is why I dread the inevitable mainstream adoption of the furry fandom

What I imagined...

The year is 2036. Furry-fuckboy has to wake up at 4:30 AM to get to work at the only remaining employer in the county, an Amazon fulfillment center.
He walks in bleary-eyed, only to be met with that awful thinly-veiled pop song about "cookies". Just when he's able to filter it out as background noise, two asshole coworkers clock in loudly arguing over whose fursona would be able to anally vore the other first.
He wonders if he could go back in time and prevent online payment processors from being invented.

I'd reckon that furry's as mainstream now as its likely to ever get. but, regardless I wouldn't say "gatekeeping" is the solution to that. if your community has a strong core that it dosn't waver from, then the negative influences will be filtered out.

furry is a large enough grassroots community now that its core identity is extremely strong. we're unlikely to be tainted by external forces.

we also still have the one thing that other communities gave up and lost their cohesion because of it: websites. our own websites, not third party mass social media bullshit, actual community spaces.

It's been a long time coming
Fresh new tires I'm still running
It's a few things I'm overcoming

I swear, I need some sort of Long Service medal for the fandom.

"Bolis"? That's the only Mexican popsicle I know. Never tried coconut (flavor) I'll try if I can find it somewhere.

I don't think bolis is a brand name (if it was at some point it's well generic now). I've heard the name used for any of those individually packaged stickless freezer pops (like Otter Pops), I would have to guess that it comes from the fact that these ones specifically look like pens, bolígrafos.

Those Mexican popsicles I got at the grocery store. Those things ruled. They were a buck a pop, though I doubt they're still the same price. The coconut ones had actual bits of coconut so you could chew on them. Same with bubble gum. Wish they still sold them nearby.

МЯТНО-ШОКОЛАДНОЕ for me btw.

Does anyone else have an incredibly low opinion of the "VR Chat species," meaning ones made as/to be VRC avatars? To me they just feel very... special snowflake-y. They're basically just foxes or furred dragons with the serial numbers filed off. It doesn't help that I mentally associate VR Chat with minors, aka people with no taste.

this is the only one I actually speak, so, I guess that. although, I've always felt that the selection of exclamations/interjections in (current day) english, expletives especially, are lacking phonetically. in my own vocabulary I tend to supplement with stuff from other languages, mostly german, although I also use a sacre or two, on occasion.
anyway...

coffee, probably?
I don't really have that strong of a preference, though. anything is good, as long as it's not chocolate.

Weird I thought you were French. Or at least speaks French

I wonder what the people who create content on Subscribestar will do after the site's rules have changed...

Oops decided to get that skylanders superchargers game unfortunately there's a 360 version and xbox one version and of course only the x1 versions compatible with the series x it was super cheap and got a ton of figures will just have to get the compatible stuff on ebay

I'm learning that trying to paint multiple different figures at the same time is a great way to not finish any of them.

I mean, I'm fine with getting into something after it's no longer popular, and I'm fine, like, riding the wave of popularity if something I already like gets popular.

but something being popular, for some reason, is just an extreme turn-off to me. even if it's something I know I'd probably like otherwise.

I have a friend who was super into the Amazing Digital Circus for the first few episodes, but after it got insanely popular he decided it had gotten bad because of the fans' influence.
I didn't have the heart to tell him the entire plot was planned out from the beginning.

The post is very interesting too. Afaik it's the only one that is blocked by the global blacklist besides young -rating:s (So you have to make an account to see the image.)

guys if i rotoscope the slap of god but replace nicolas cage, the guy getting slapped and the terrified children watching with mahoraga, megumi and haruta from jjk respectively would that be enough to get past e621's guidelines. theres like a total of 12 posts on this site with mahoraga tagged despite not necessarily being a "furry" but im unsure as to whether or not the inclusion of two humans (megumi and haruta) would be too much.
